About Rachel

Rachel Taylor, M.S., LPC

Hi, I’m Rachel Taylor! I opened my counseling practice in Corvallis, Oregon in January 2012 and have had the pleasure of working with many diverse couples and individuals in this amazing community. I am currently serving as a private practitioner in downtown Corvallis, and among my areas of expertise are anxiety, trauma, PTSD, depression, divorce, relationship issues, and boundaries and communication. I feel comfortable working with adults, families, couples, and children and enjoy working with clients of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds.

When working with clients I integrate complimentary modalities and techniques to offer a tailored and specialized approach to each person I work with. I utilize my compassion and understanding to empower individuals to attain the personal growth that they are committed to accomplishing.

Prior to starting my practice I earned my Masters Degree in Health and Human Development with a specialization in Marriage and Family Counseling from Montana State University in 2011. While studying in Montana I co-ran a community mental health clinic where I had the opportunity to work with a diverse population of individuals, including adults, children, couples and families.  I also facilitated a court-mandated parenting through divorce community training as well as a wellness group for Montana State University’s Preschool students. Prior to my graduate study I attained a bachelors of science in Psychology with a focus on children and adolescents from Southern Oregon University.

In addition to my counseling practice I am also pursuing yoga teacher training, and building an infrastructure for life coaching; as there has been demonstrated interest in alternatives to medication and in some cases traditional counseling. Briefly, the practice of Yoga can reduce anxiety and in concert with counseling, hasten both personal growth and healing. Life coaching is an excellent solutions focused tool for highly motivated and goal oriented individuals struggling to achieve change.
